Note:     Octavio Monico Puig was born on May 6, 1886 in San Diego, Texas. He was the son of Juan Puig and Uranie. Octavio worked for the U.S Post Office in San Diego and later became a police in Brownsville, Texas. He climbed to the rank of Lieutenant. He died on the morning hours of September 19, 1913 in a shootout with renegate elements of the Camaron County Sheriff's Department. At that time, there was a feud between the County Sheriff Department and the Brownsville City Polic.^3,2
