At the request of the family, there will be no formal service for Jessie Pillow Gunter, 88, of Vacaville.

Mrs. Gunter died April 11, 2003, following a long illness.

Born Feb. 19, 1915, in Kentucky, she was a 22-year resident of the Leisure Town section of Vacaville and was a longtime homemaker who enjoyed bridge and bowling.

Mrs. Gunter is survived by her grandchildren, Brett DeCair, Diana Romano and Alden Owen of California, Jon Owen of Washington and Koni Foster of Nevada; brothers, Hazle Nicholas and Eugene Nicholas of Detroit, Mich., and Alben Nicholas of San Diego; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, both of her husbands, Wayne and Gordon, and both of her children, Carol and Norman.

Arrangements were by Vaca Hills Chapel.³

Calvin Seals, Formerly of Rossville, Dies Monday

Funeral services for Calvin D. Seals, aged 70, who died Monday following a long illness from a complication of diseases, were held at the home in Georgetown Wednesday. Burial was in the Songer cemetery at Tilton.

Mr. Seals was born at Broad Rippple, Ind., Dec. 17, 1852, and was at the time of his death 70 years, and four months old. At the age of seven he moved with his parents to Rossville, where he lived until 1900, when he moved to Geogetown, where he engaged in farming until four years ago, his health failing and since that time he had lived a retired life.

In 1872 he united in marriage with Elizabeth Cowan. To this union were born five children, Ben Seals and Mrs. William Theobald of Indianapolis, Mrs. Charles Dwilla of Arthur, Ill., Mrs. Robert Cooper of Hoopeston and George Seals, who with the widow, one brother, Charles Seals of Hoopeston, and two sisters, Mrs. Laura Blevins of Danville and Mrs. Emmett Wiley of Kokomo, survive.²
